Article FUNCTIONAL PLANNING TECHNIQUES FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION OF RAILWAY STATIONS AND THEIR TRANSFORMATION INTO TRANSPORT HUBS

AbstractIn recent years, the stations of large cities can’t cope with the increase in passenger traffic, in addition, the influence of the commercial part is growing, and it certainly appears in such visited objects as the station. This causes the emergence of new functional zones in the complexes, an increase in passenger traffic. The article considers the main stages of the formation of transport hubs, the prerequisites for the transformation of railway stations into multifunctional complexes, and highlights the techniques that help transform railway stations into modern transport hubs. All the considered theoretical techniques are supported by typical practical examples from the world experience of design.
