Article GENESIS OF ARCHITECTURAL TYPES OF ORTHODOX CHURCHES IN MODERN TIMES AND THE BORDER BETWEEN SEARCH AND «ARCHITECTURE OF EXILED MEANINGS»

Abstract The publication examines the aspects of the formation of the architectural type of the Orthodox Church in modern times. The concept of the construction of the architectural type of the Orthodox Church on the basis of the principle of obtaining an answer to the spiritual needs of man is formulated, which is inevitably accompanied by architectural and artistic expression in space and the system of iconographic images. Some features of the modern perception of the provisions of the Seventh Ecumenical Council and the importance of such provisions for the formation of the architectural type of the Orthodox Church are considered. The prospects for the typological evolution of the Orthodox churches in the XXI century done.
