Abstract The article is devoted to analysis of principles of morphogenesis in the works of influential figures in Mexican architecture of the 20th century, Luis Barragán and Ricardo Legorreta. The emphasis is made on the color and the possibilities of its use in the formation of architectural space. Examines the stylistic originality of works by Ricardo Legorreta. A parallel with the principles of formation in the architecture of Luis Barragán is found. His works have had a significant impact on many architects of our time.
