Article LAYOUT AND WATER BALANCE OF THE LOWER DON TRADITIONAL SETTLEMENTS

Abstract An analysis of the spatial development of the territory of the Rostov region from the 16th century to the present day has been carried out. The patterns of development of the urban environment, associated with large-scale transformation in the territory of the Rostov region, are revealed. Grado-ecological traditions that preserve the originality of the traditional form of settlement and organization of urban territories on the Don have been studied. The urban landscape is classified according to additional functions related to the regulation of surface runoff, four types of territories are identified: flow guides, absorbing, accumulating, dewatering. The changes in the properties of urban landscapes that manage surface runoff are considered in various historical periods in the territory of the Russian Federation.
