Abstract Solar architecture is considered a multifaceted contemporary professional concept encompassing both technical and aesthetic components, reflected in the classification framework presented in the article. The study focuses on photovoltaic panels as one of the technical means of solar energy utilization in architecture, with particular attention to the Orenburg region of the Russian Federation, which possesses significant natural resources of solar optical radiation. The article examines the principal methods of photovoltaic panel placement on architectural structures and their compositional role in contemporary architectural design solutions.
Keywords: solar architecture, solar energy, optical radiation, photovoltaic conversion of solar, heliothermic method of converting solar radiation, aesthetics of "solar" architecture
