Article THE SOUTHERN PART OF THE MOSCOW GARDEN RING PLANNING STRUCTURE FORMATION IN 1955–2005s
Authors S. Tkachenko
Moscow Institute of Architecture (State Academy), Moscow, Russia
Abstract The article considers the stages of designing the southern part of the Garden ring of Moscow from the mid-1950s to the present day. The problem field of research was the study of the southern part of the Garden ring as an essential part of the system in which urban planning and architecture are in certain relations and form an ordered integrity. The state role of Soviet urban planning art had continuity in relation to the 1930s. The change in urban planning policy that occurred in the mid-1950s influenced the initial plans for the Garden ring planning structure, modifying the principles of the ongoing design of the capital's main thoroughfare. The paper analyzes the relationship between the creativity of architects who developed scenarios for the development of the city, and the process of making administrative urban planning decisions by government structures. Unpublished projects of Oktyabrskaya square are being put into scientific circulation.
