Article THE PHENOMENON OF URBAN IDENTITY

Abstract The authors analyze global changes in the role of urban identity associated with socio-economic, cultural, psychological, religious, demographic, migration, scientific and technological processes of urban civilization change in the XXI century. In the article the authors proposed to introduce the concept of the urban identity coefficient for a modern reading of the ongoing processes of transformation of the urban socio-economic environment in order to make the most conscious planning, architectural and design decisions in the urban environment and to understand the phenomenon of urban identity of city residents including in the field of pedestrian and transport communications.
