Article SOME FEATURES OF RUSSIAN RESIDENTIAL WOODEN ARCHITECTURE DEVELOPMENT: FROM MIDDLE AGES TO THE END OF THE 20th CENTURY

Abstract The article is devoted to the peculiarities of the Russian tradition of building a wooden dwelling. The periodization of stages of construction of residential objects made of wood is justified. The main characteristics of the periods of development of the domestic practice of creating a wooden dwelling are presented. The main trends and characteristic features of the formation of the spatial structure of wooden housing in urban and rural areas, starting from the middle ages to the 90s of the twentieth century, are determined.
