Abstract The article is dedicated to the famous park staircase, designed by the leader of avant-garde architecture Ivan Leonidov in the sanatorium of the People's Commissariat of Industry in Kislovodsk. Its uniqueness is similar to antique prototypes, which the architect did not have the opportunity to see in kind, and in the finest elaboration of all its elements. Until now, a drawing of this staircase has not been identified and there was no accurate measurement of it up to 2020. The article talks about the role of the drawing in the most complex composition of this work, as well as its connection with the professional context of the 1930s, in particular with G. Terragni works.
