Abstract The article is focused on Adolf Scheffer (1924–2020) buildings and constructions, which play a significant role in the Sevastopol urban landscape. Buildings of Adolf Scheffer are the most recognizable in Sevastopol. This is the Central Market (Passage), the Obelisk (“Bayonet and Sail”) on cape Khrustalny, and the Memorial Arch on the city entrance way. Created in the new international style in the 1960–1980s, they play a significant role in urban landscape and became symbols of the city. This buildings have to be protected due to unique architectural and artistic qualities despite modernist architecture criticism and ongoing new developments as well as unskilled repair works.
