Abstract Article describes the concept of "building-bridge" type above-ground large-span buildings, analyzes previous scientific and design-experimental developments of this problem and offers recommendations for the presentation of space-planning solutions for low-span bridge buildings. Transport problems in many cities, including Moscow, are caused by the historical structure with railway stations located in the city centers, and separation of the city's districts with the road network. Breaks in the road network are caused by the presence of long obstacles, such as rivers, ravines, railway tracks, industrial zones. The construction of bridge buildings can help solve a number of transport and social problems in large cities. The bridge building provides pedestrian and transport links between separated areas and includes social and public functions that meet the needs of certain areas. The city receives transport links between districts, and the investor receives rental areas for public and commercial functions.
Keywords: aboveground long-span structure, habitable bridge, prolonged barrier, transportation system, road construction
