Article PROTECTION STATUS OF SEVASTOPOL SAILORS CLUB BUILDING AND ITS AUTHORSHIP

Abstract A.I. Gegello – architect of one of the prominent postwar Sevastopol buildings, Sailors Club. His signature present on numerous blueprints in city archive, but his authorship is now widely known, and building is attributed to second-grade architects even in official heritage protection documents. Paper is focused on restoration of architect ‘good name’ and club architecture analysis. Role in Sevastopol urban landscape, architecture qualities and authenticity of the building parts worth raising a protection status of the Sailors Club to higher level.
