ArticleARCHITECTURAL DESIGN OF LARGE-SPAN TRASLUCENT ENCLOSING STRUCTURES ROOFING FOOTBALL STADIUMS

Abstract Various aspects of the architectural formation of translucent covering structures that determine the appearance and volume-spatial composition of football stadiums are considered. Based on the experience of designing and constructing the stadiums for Football World Cup - 2018 in Russia, the typological features of long-span translucent coatings were identified, the structural rhythmometric patterns are determined, and reasonable geometric parameters of the translucent coating shell are established. An overview and recommendations for choosing the modern light-transmitting building materials and architectural systems is provided alongside the main characteristics that determine their roof application.
