Abstract	The analysis of attempts to reorganize the Academy of Architecture of the USSR in the second half of the 1930s and mid-1950s is given in the article. The materials that have been identified in the archives provide an opportunity to look at the process that led to a change in academic activity in the mid-1950s, not as it was accepted in the Soviet period, but as a difficult and difficult path, influenced by many factors that are not always controlled academy.
