Abstract The article deals with the actual problem of school education and the architectural and spatial organization of schools. On the basis of the material studied, the modern pedagogical methodology of Reggio Emilia suggests principles for organizing the architectural space of schools, which take into account the concept of a free, interdisciplinary and creative educational process. The principles formulated as a result of the research can be used as recommendations in the design of modern secondary schools, which will allow creating a better and more suitable educational space for modern children.
