AbstractBy 2030, the rise in temperature of the planet Earth will reach a critical point. The existence of life support systems is threatened. The reversing functions of environmental degradation require the restoration of the broken relationships between ecosystem functions and agricultural production systems. The article substantiates the urban development model of the place, which determines the optima of the necessary niches for production systems, population distribution and biodiversity conservation at the level of the local system of rural settlement. The climate-smart agricultural landscape mitigates the effects of climate change and creates synergies between natural and productive systems. The world of 2030 depends on urban planning decisions already made today.
