Article FORM FINDING PROCESS AND GRAPHICS IN ARCHITECTURAL CONCEPTS OF NEW MODERNISM. INTERRELATIONS AND CONTRADICTIONS
Authors

M. Mindiashvili, Moscow Institute of Architecture (State Academy), Moscow, Russia

Abstract Current article deals with the analysis of graphical methods of the architecture of “New Modern”. It is noteworthy that the finding process of architecture form is connected with the graphical representation. The two fundamental methods are studied in current article: the diagram method and collage. The origins of contemporary collages are analyzed in detail. The collage technique, which became popular with the help of works of Georges Braque and Pablo Picasso, had huge impact on both the artistic trends of the twentieth century as well as the architecture of the beginning of the 21st century. Circulation diagrams and functional schemes, which originated in American books on home management in the end of the 19th century, were popularized in works of German architects Bruno Taut and Alexander Klein in the early twentieth century. However diagrams became a subject of studies only in the 90s of the 20th century. Architecture elements, its function and values are constantly changing, but the diagram method and collage technique have become more and more popular and actual.
