Article PROFESSIONAL STRUCTURE OF MODERN URBAN PLANNING

Abstract The article is devoted to the problem of identifying the range of professions that make up the existing core of modern Russian urban planning. By generalizing Russian research and interviewing participants in urban planning, the model of structure is formulated, and the regularities of its evolution are revealed. The emergence of different types of urban development ("science–design–management") entails the development of several profiles in profession, each of which is dominated by its own group of professionals. There is an expansion of the range of urban planning tasks in favor of strengthening the positions of modeling, conceptual development, educational tasks; paradigm shift in the preparation of urban planners from education "urban planner-general" to the training of representatives of different professions, to joint urban development.
