Article THE SPEED OF PASSENGER TRAFFIC IN A LARGE CITY (BY EXAMPLE OF PENZA)

Abstract The dynamics of the automobilization level and the volume of passenger traffic in Penza for the period from 2005 to 2017 years is shown. Marked modernization of the road network of the city. The tendency is revealed in the number of passengers on public transport on the background of rising automobilization levels and increasing the share of trips amounts on a personal car. There is an increase in traffic flows from the basic living places of citizens to the second housing in peri-urban areas. Determined average speed of public transport in rush hours and another periods of time. Dependence is revealed of the movement mode of passenger traffic from the period of construction in the city. Dedicated urban consequences of the increase of transport correspondences average speed in the structure of the city. The increment speed of movement shows the regional growth of the city beyond its administrative boundaries
