Abstract	The article is devoted to a complex analysis of the modern practice of building Orthodox churches in Russia in the 21st century. Actual problems of the temple architecture and possible ways of further development of church art are revealed, as well as questions on improving the methodology for selecting architectural and artistic means in church architecture and developing a systematic approach to the evaluation of design solutions - the definition of evaluation criteria and their systematization
