ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGIES IN DESIGN OF MODERN UNIVERSITY CAMPUSES

Authors V.A. Pavlova, V.S. Goloshubin, Moscow Institute of Architecture (State Academy), Moscow, Russia
Abstract

In our contemporary time fundamentally new technologies of solving environmental problems appear each day. The scientific community and leading universities pay a lot of attention to this topic. New experimental developments in this area are used in design and construction of university campuses. Modern sustainable architecture of the campuses is designed to "work" by the law of nature, to be f part of the ecosystem without disturbing natural balance. The ideas of nature-equivalent architecture and compensation that construction of the building was struck are combined with environmental safety and energy efficiency. These campuses might be called as "self-sufficient" from the point of view of natural resources consumption. They are basically the part of nature by not polluting the environment and with no need in the environmental resources.

Keywords: green architecture, self-contained university campus, environmental technology, energy savings, high-tech construction materials
