Abstract

The article considers two major problems of designing of buildings of research institutes and enterprises, leading research and innovation activity: the flexibility in design and support of interpersonal communication. An approach is proposed to solve this problem which is based on the classification of research activity by type of action. The type of action defines the space requirements for its implementation. The necessity of the providing of the implementation of functional-technological program, the conditions for implementing all types of actions and relations between them is substantiated in the article. The information links and information spaces are introduced as new concepts to indicate important tools for creating of architectural-and-planning solutions. Such solutions support the interpersonal communications in the process of the scientific-oriented information exchange which is one of the main factors, providing the generation and development of new ideas in the research environment.

Various ways of configuration of complexes of buildings of scientific centers are considered. Some principles of architectural and planning organization of buildings for the scientific researchers are provided as a conclusion of the article. These principles enable using means of the organization of the space to increase the effectiveness of work of scientific organizations, and to create structures, which are adapted to perception of the frequent changes of the technological process, during the research activities.
