Abstract Until the end of the 1980s the government has been active in the development of the Far North. With the advent of perestroika began a lull, resulting in destruction of infrastructure, reduction of quality of life Northerners, and as a consequence - the out-migration and a sharp decline in the population in the settlements of the Russian Far North. Given the strategic importance of these areas and focus on natural potentials, the state is obliged to do their development and inclusion in the economy. Start at the restoration of what has been mastered by our ancestors - to re-establish basic Russian Arctic outposts on the coast of the Arctic Ocean. One of these center-outposts is the settlement Dixon. The article devoted to the main provisions of its modern revival.
