Abstract | The article is devoted to the 100th anniversary of the opening of the Museum of Fine Arts named after Pushkin, a celebration which took place in 2012. It analyses the history of the museum, describing the design of the museum building, designed by architect R.I. Kleyn. He created a building which houses a permanent exhibition, and in modern conditions has not lost its value. It still occupies a central place in the architectural organization of the entire museum complex. The new space is formed around it including specially equipped storage of a depository type, detached exhibition building, that allows to quickly and accurately change the unusual expositions. In the future, this disposition to the maximum effect will be guaranteed by architectural upgrades, availability of necessary space, which is simply not available or lacking, modern art equipment for the delivery, storage, transport and display of exhibits. That is the message of the modern museum architecture - not to limit to the external attributes, but to solve every task in the most simple and effective way, realizing that in museum the mail role is played by authentic exhibit item, not an architectural surroundings, no matter how effective they are. | ||||
