| Abstract |
The paper presents the conceptual principles for spatial development of the Moscow region as a complete system of integrated urban development of a new type. Such a system should be capable of transformational development of the already existing urban system. The new system is designed to solve the problems of the formation, development, modernization and transformation of spaces the built environment, taking into account specific regional natural ingredients. Urban development planning system in the Moscow region is to consider different levels of local, urban, regional, national and international organizations of urban structures, each of which has the features of the structure and functioning. The main purpose of the provisions of the Moscow metropolitan area is to define the vision of a viable sustainable future of Moscow and its region, based on the consideration of internal and external resources in the region related to the strategic location and status of the capital city of the region.
