Abstract |
The first competition on the theme « Synthetic Theater of Mass Actions» in USSR, which was
announced in Rostov-on-Don, 1930, is considered. The Rostov Opera and Drama Theater is a
multipurpose city complex. It became «a bridge» between Rostov and Nakhichevan cities and
gave a public platform for dialogue where townspeople found common cultural values and
traditions. The article presents documented facts that influenced the formation of the theater
competitive program and the activity of the social city life. An elite concentration and accessibility
of the theater should influence the development of an intellectual core in Rostov-on-Don. The
transformation of its spatial organization was the result of evolution of lifestyle and living
conditions of a country town population and its way of life. The combination of various educational
and entertainment features in a single complex was arranging a directing process of visiting the
theater, educating in New life values of people.
The text describes the idea's main stages of development of the Opera and Drama Theater in Rostov-on-Don, the structure of premises program, a design competition and its resume. On archival data it is analyzing the influence of external factors on the process of the theatre desining, it is considered the making of key decisions in what follows influenced the development of social and community life in the city. |
