Article	PECULIARITIES OF THE CITY SYSTEM’S FORMATION IN AZERBAIJAN REPUBLIC

Abstract	Analyze of cities formation and their growth in Azerbaijan Republic has shown that this process in the country was extremely dynamic. The rapid growth of cities of Azerbaijan Republic has put difficult tasks for urban planning. It also happens that under increasing volume’s pressure of the urban planning, acuteness of urgent, unforeseen town building’s tasks, its implementation took place outside of plans. However, even a general acquaintance with plans on the line of 50 – 60’s and the present state of spatial structures of republic’s large cities allows to establish an important role of planning documents as a basis for the urban development’s management. Examples are general plans of Ganja, Gazakh, Sheki, Yevlakh cities etc. Many refinements and additions have been made in the order of periodic adjustments of general plans and detailed planning’s phased projects. Practice of adjustment and stage plans developing favored new factors account and safety of effectiveness of the main planning document.
