Abstract	The reasons defining today an imperative need of change of the organization of town-planning activity in the Dnester region, have both socio-political and economic character, and professional character as well. The Dnester region is one of regions of the Post-Soviet geopolitical area, become in the beginning of 90th the "politically unstable region" on a map of south-east Europe, being a bright example of inertness in economic, demographic and settling situation of 50-80th. The urgency of the chosen theme of research appreciably is caused by the new geopolitical situation which has caused the deep crisis of the theory of settling in republic, and the "regionalization" of researches in social and economic processes, the development of situational aspects of research. The object of research is the regional system of settling, its composition and structure, the main laws and problems of formation and development of the Dnester region in the situation of autonomy.
