Abstract The article is devoted to the concept of «aperspectivity», developed in various fields of activity and to the concept of «aperspective space», which formed in the works of Hans Scharoun and became one of the most significant principles of designing the projects of buildings of various purposes. Theatres and concert halls show the full extent of the idea of «aperspectivity», as seen in Cassel (1952, not built), Mannheim (1953, likewise), and Zurich (1963, same). Berlin´s Philharmonic Hall (1963), Scharoun´s most significant creation, tops this list. Aperspective theatres and concert halls seeked for a new performance format to activate the audience around the stage. The viewer, the artist and the director were provided with a wide range of possibilities to exploit, from classically static linear vistas to dynamic, non-linear moves, including moving performance locations throughout the hall.
Keywords: «aperspectivity», «aperspective space», «irrational space», Hans Scharoun, theater and concert halls, spectators´ activation
