Abstract The article discusses the features of traditional bamboo architecture in countries with a tropical-humid weather. Historical construction experience using bamboo as a constructive and finishing material is analyzed. The article notes that with the arrival of the Spaniards in the countries of Latin America, new technologies initiated the process of removing the construction of bamboo from construction practices. The history of construction showed that the construction of bamboo was used and applied throughout the development of civilization. Nowadays, this experience should be used in modern architecture in the aspect of sustainable development and created a living environment for humans.
