Article	METAPHOR ROLE IN FORMATION OF AN ARCHITECTURAL OBJECT ON THE EХAMPLE ОF THE WORK OF BUREAU «DOMINIQUE COULON ARCHITECTS»

Abstract	The article is devoted to the definition of a term of a metaphor as the method of an architectural expressiveness in design. The general idea of a concept «metaphor» is formulated in article. The most important aspects, connected to the use of this term in architectural design are given. The cases of using of a metaphor in creation of an image of an architectural object are described on the examples of the constructed objects of the French bureau "Dominique Сoulon Architects". The sources of the initiation of a metaphor are formulated: context (town planning, historical, natural) and also functional, geometrical, structural, constructive, technological and esthetic characteristics of an architectural object. The main role of a metaphor is defined in architectural design, which concludes that the metaphor helps to find in initial baseline what must be revealed in future project design.
