Article	ABOUT THE SPATIAL SENSE OF VOLUTE

Abstract	The construction of altarpiece in different traditions of antiquity is considered from the point of view of their orientation. It is shown that in the Mediterranean and other traditions the orientation of the altars upward to the sky has developed into a variety of systems of volute construction.
