AbstractThe article is devoted to the problem of renovation of textile enterprises of the late XIX – early XXI centuries, the revival of production, development and improvement of industrial areas. The results of the study of the possibility of renovation of textile enterprises for the revival of production using modern equipment and technology. The solution to this problem is necessary for the development of urban economies and the creation of new jobs. It is noted that the renovation of light industry enterprises requires the lowest cost compared to other industries. Examples of renovation of enterprises and their territories, as well as an experimental project of the flax factory in the city of Gavrilov-Yam of the Yaroslavl region are given. Production at many enterprises can be restored with the support of the state.
