AbstractThe article is devoted to the peculiarities of the formation of pneumatic architecture in the XXI century. The article defines the key advantages of the use of pneumatic structures, taking into account the previous experience of their application, as well as the factors that influenced their improvement and expansion: digital parametric and information BIM-modeling; cyberphysical robotic systems; elastic and multilayer materials; 3D printing technology; the ability to control the design process by the user. Identification of ways to create pneumatic structures in the XXI century will allow to design dynamic, energy-efficient and adaptive self-organizing buildings and structures. The study allowed to determine the principles of formation of pneumatic structures in modern architecture. The results can be useful for architects, designers and engineers.
Keywords: pneumatic structures, BIM technologies, digital 3D modeling, adaptability, robotics, kinetic architecture, biomorphic design
