Article NEW ACCENTS OF ARCHITECTURAL AND URBAN PLANNING ACTIVITY OF THE FUTURE DECADE (CLIMATE, WATER, DEMOGRAPHY)
Authors
V. Shemyakina, Moscow Institute of Architecture (State Academy), Moscow, Russia
Abstract The article is devoted to the problem aspects of modern architectural and town-planning activity, revealed during discussions at the tenth World Architecture Festival in Berlin, held in 2017 (WAFX). These problems are presented as 10 manifestos of the next decade. Among them: "climate, energy and carbon"; "water"; "aging and health"; "identity"; "ethics and value"; "power and justice"; "smart cities"; "building technology"; "re-use"; "virtual worlds (VR)". The manifestation of these aspects dictates new conditions for planning and designing the urban environment. The article considers three problems that are most influential on the health status and quality of life of people in cities. These are climate change, the use of water resources, demographic change and public health. It is a question of the consequences of these
influences, and decisions that allow to preserve the comfort, safety and health of people.
