Article"ARCHITECTURE HAS GONE": FROM THE ILLUSION OF THE MOVEMENT TO THE MOVEMENT OF THE REAL
Authors

D. Melodinsky, Moscow Institute of Architecture (State Academy), Moscow, Russia

Abstract The article devoted to the dynamics in the architectural composition considers the artistic role of expressing the dynamic qualities of three-dimensional forms. For most of the history of architecture, the movement acted as an illusion, while the body mass remained static and stable. An analysis of various techniques for expressing dynamism due to the dismemberment of the plastic characteristics of a form and its external geometry is given. From the beginning of the twentieth century, signs of increased dynamism began to appear in architecture with the involvement of new compositional methods of shaping. “Architecture has gone” (academician S.O. Khan-Magomedov). From the mobility of individual elements, project creativity continues an experiment with the extreme dynamics of structures and their actual movement. In the palette of the expressive language of architecture, a completely new means arises, which is subject to aesthetic development in the future.
