Article PUBLIC BUILDINGS AND COMPLEXES ON THE LARGE CITIES WATERFRONTS

Abstract By today placement of multifunctional public objects on waterfront has formed as a sustainable trend that needs a systematic consideration and professional estimation. This paper considers actual matters of such structures formation, in particular, peculiar features of functioning, specifics of architectural arrangement, conditions of interaction of a water body and a spatial structure of the building, and pattern of surrounding area planning. It indicates the range of conditions which, according to the author’s opinion, are worth following when compiling the program of coastal area development, as well as functional, engineering and technical aspects of public buildings formation in such conditions.
