Authors M.R. Nevlyutov, Research Institute of the Theory and History of Architecture and Town Planning, Moscow, Russia
Abstract One of the main trends of the modern architecture is mobility. It is not just movement of building elements, but the conditionality of the existence architecture by the time itself. Architecture is the living entity in the process of constant becoming, architecture links together all aspects of reality. This statement changes the way we used to think about architecture in the 20th century. The traditional understanding of architecture as something coherent, specific and complete is collapses. Architecture absorbs the aleatoric of life. Theory of architecture shifts its focus from object to action, from text to performance. The architectural theorist David Leatherbarrow puts the concept of time at the center of his attention. He points at the performativity of architecture and interprets architecture as an event, action, which is continuously becoming in space and time.
