Abstract	The article considers the results of the contest in the Moscow Institute of Architecture under the concept of environmental education in 2017. The article touches upon the issues of the environmental education of a student at an architectural university; particular attention is paid to the role of a pilot project (eco-clauses) in the process of continuous environmental education. The article shows the importance of eco-clauses as an interim trial project, in which the synthesis of innovative technologies and architectural or planning solutions for the development of the urban environment is creatively tested.
