Scenario-based Design of the Built Environment

AbstractThis work continues a serious of publications on Cognitive Urbanism as a new platform of knowledge that integrates research and design of architectural space in built environment.  Scenario-based architectural design is part of the broader mainstream of - "project forecasting", which is based on the algorithm of replaying alternative strategies of socio-cultural adaptation for the  forecasting situations. Of course, the success of the socio-cultural development of the urban environment depends not only on advanced urban planning and design, but, most of all, on the harmony of self-organization and formal management in local level of urban governance. The scenario-based design of public space is considered in the following sequence: - forecasting, -programming, -design of the architectural space simultaneously on several levels of the urban fabric: -micro, - mezzo, -macro-spaces. This article is part of the book "Cognitive Urbanizm", which is being prepared for publication in 2018. The article defines a number of public spaces and innovative ideas about the structure of the urban environment. Terms that have a special interpretation within the framework of cognitive urbanzm are indicated in italics
