In the article, the authors consider the issues of the development of new architectural and constructive solutions arising from the construction of new religious buildings. A brief historical analysis of the new temple construction in foreign countries and in modern Russia is given. In addition, the article raises an important problem of the lack of continuity of such construction in modern Russia. The article raises a serious problem of the lack of style continuity in the construction of temple complexes. It is noted that the very architecture of modern cult buildings being built can be characterized as an appeal to the architectural traditions of the past. An important problem of modern religious architecture is the use of new building materials, the need to combine the traditions of iconic architecture with modern architectural and constructive solutions. A significant place in the article is given to such an important problem of modern religious construction as the need to ensure good audibility, both singing the choir, and the voices of the clergy from the altar, from the salt and the space of the temple. Acoustic design of church buildings should be maintained from the very beginning of architectural design. As we see on numerous examples, acoustics in the construction of new temples were neglected, relying on electronic acoustics.
