Abstract
This article analyzes the ideas and methods of structural and semiotic studies in architecture. One of the significant trends and lines of development of international architectural research the second decade of the new century was the so-called " structuralism reloaded". This "reloade" is partly linked to the development of computer programming methods in architectural design, but is accompanied by the expanded study of scientific methods and concepts put forward and developed in the 1960s - 1970s. In the present study analizirueye sources cited and listed in the bibliography only the publications of the 1960s - 1970s.Specificity of the semiotic approach to the analysis of architecture, distinguished properties of architectural space, which are the subject of semiotic research, outlines the main issues raised in these proceedings, and outlined the levels of their decision. The paper also provides analysis of the major directions of semiotic studies abroad /US "proxemics", French structuralism, of Stuttgart school information aesthetics, and others/, And the example of a number of creative architects /K. Tange, R. Venturi / showing the way and methods of conscious use of some results semiotic research in design practice.
