ANNIVERSARY OF METABOLISM IN KōFU (JAPAN)

Abstract

Scientific-and-technological advance and impetuous social and economical development predetermine the changes also the second nature of society – the artificial environment for human living. The problem of theoretical and practical search of new forms of change of habitation connected with dynamic transformation of the society arises ahead of architects and town-planers. “Metabolism” appeared in 60-n years of XX century in Japan. It is the theory on new development of architecture. This theory gained success and influenced the minds of architects in many countries and there were practical results of it. In 2017 will be 50-ty years anniversary of communication centre in Kōfu (Japan). This period seems sufficient both for analysis and perception of reasons of metabolism appearing and tracing of development of viability concepts of theorists of metabolism’s on examples of realized projects.
