Abstract

The article is devoted to the basic problems of modern urban development with transport planning positions. Understand the differences and technical costs of transport planning in the development of the Western practice from the middle of the XX century. The influence of mass motorization in the quality of the urban environment and transport framework. Examples of optimization of the transport system and the humanization of the urban environment in the global urban planning practice. A strategy for the development of public transport in relation to the conditions of the national urban planning practice.
