Article ARCHITECTURE AND ARCHITECTURAL STYLE IN THE CONTEXT OF “SOCIAL SYSTEMS THEORY” BY NIKLAS LUHMAN

Abstract The architecture it is a part of society. A contemporary architectural theory has no doubt about it. But the interaction between architecture and society and a process of development of architectural styles are still unobvious. Theory architacture is not an issue of the social theories. Obviously, for an understanding of the process in architecture and architecture-society interactions, one should appeal for sociology. Particulary, critical analysis of Niklas Luhmann “social systems theory” is the framework of this article. Niklas Luhmann is one of the most prominent sociologist of the 20th century. The Luhmann's “Social systems theory” proved to be able to discover many of hidden processes of architecture, interaction between architecture and other parts of social life subsystems, which affects social development.
