Abstract	The article is devoted to the social activity nodes as an elements providing interaction of industrial zones with the urban environment. The existing interpretations of tis term are overviewed. They cover a variety of points of view on the nodes organization in context of social activity on the basis of different approaches to the development of the urban environment. The survey of Moscow’s industrial areas was resulted in the stadial classification of the social activity nodes.
