Article PRINCIPLES AND MEANS OF LIGHT COMPOSITION IN CONTEMPORARY ART AND ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN

Abstract The features of the light composition as a complex artistic and psychological phenomenon in the contemporary visual arts are described in the article. The attention is focused on the classically theory of architectural compositions, questions of psychology of visual perception, theory of lighting design of the city as the basis of forming the light compositions. A figurative and artistic principles are specified in the use of artificial light installations, objects of art op-art, light art, media art and land art. The revealed laws are put into the methodology of creation light composition practice work. Its main tools and techniques are identified and named.
