Abstract | The article is the research of the principles of spatial construction of moscow metro station Baumanskaya based on the analysis of the literature and direct observations. Attention devoted to organization of the station space, and continuity of this project to other Iofan’s designs. The article considers the station as a synthesis of the Iofan’s creative method within requirements of the development scale. It’s identified a special spatial structure of the object, the author observed the methods, first applied in the metro architecture. The similarity and commons of the space station and the theater, contributing to the rethinking of the station as a theatricalarchitectural action, evolving in the space according to the movement, based on the analysis. The author proposes the concept of the dialogue purposed space of the station occurring the opposite planar and plastic solutions, inner meaning and external continuations to other projects Iofan’s designs. In particular, the significant mutual influence of Baumanskaya station and project of the Palace of Soviets is shown, it can be regarded as the Iofan’s reflections about the Palace of Soviets. Finally, it’s formulated that Baumanskaya station is consider to be an integral object based on the integrity of the internal and external relations, continuities and contradictions. | ||||
