Abstract This article is devoted to investigate the possibility of applying the latest technology of building information modeling (BIM) for the reconstruction of architectural and historical monuments of Ancient China, which exhibits open-air museums, and work with them, including Museum records and monitoring the state of the objects. For this purpose, a library of parametric components of a system Dougan, which is the basis of Chinese architecture monuments. This library was then used as the basic blocks for building an information models. The object of the model were taken from a wooden gazebo from the monastery of Huachansu and the building of the temple Shanmugan.
