Article RETICULAR CONSTRUCTIONS IN ARCHITECTURE OF REM KOOLHAAS
Authors P. Sipkin, Moscow Institute of Architecture (State Academy), Moscow, Russia
Abstract The article attempts to make a reconstruction of reticular constructions of Rem Koolhaas that form the basis of most of his urban concepts, plans, elevations, and spatial solution of the whole building. The concept of Koolhaas reticular constructions does not appear immediately, it develops throughout life. There are defined stages of formation, development trends, understanding of transitions from one network concept to another, departing from previous versions, or, conversely, return to the original understanding of the concept at a new stage of development. As a result this examination reveals a special «nomadic» outlook of Koolhaas, as well as formation principles of some of his urban structures.
